God Speak (part 2)

God Speak (Part 2)

(Pastor Lee Jackson – FFWC)

LAST WEEK IN PART 1 OF THIS SERIES, WE defined God Speak as learning to speak God’s Word over ourselves, over those that we love, over situations that we face and over our hopes that we have for a purposeful & fruitful life. Faith talk is the opposite of fear talk.  So much of what we say, we say out of our fears and insecurity.  faith comes from being secure in his everlasting arms THROUGH HEARING GOD’S WORD, SPEAKING GOD’S WORD AND APPLYING GOD’S WORD TO OUR LIVES.

WE AFFIRMED THAT It is not faith in ourselves or even faith in faith but faith that comes from the Word of God.  ROM 10:17: Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” It is by God’s Word that the World was brought into existence.  Isaiah 55:11 says the words that comes out of God’s mouth will not return void but would accomplish God’s purpose.

This morning I want TO CONTINUE THIS SERIES:  text: Matt 7:24-27 (NIV)

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. (He using a natural truth to explain a spiritual truth) 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. (Remember what the Lord told Jeremiah — I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.”  It’s His word we speak) 26 but everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Difficulties and problems will come against the righteous — as well as the unrighteous — just like Matt 5:45 declares —  He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.  (HERE DIFFICULTIES & PROBLEMS ARE REPRESENTED BY the wind & the rain…It’s the foundation, the Word of God — that determines whether or not our HOUSE succeeds or fails when the storms come…and they will come.

IN THIS SITUATION BOTH THE WISE MAN AND THE FOOLISH MAN HEARD THE WORD.  IT IS WHAT THEY DID WITH IT THAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE. We must go beyond hearing…to…doing…APPLYING THE WORD OF GOD TO OUR LIFE & SITUATION    The wise man took the Words of God and put them into practice.  using Gods Words he laid a foundation.  The foundation became a singular ROCK. Collectively the individual Words from God WHEN PUT INTO PRACTICE become the ROCK (THE FOUNDATION.  WE MUST APPLY THEM TO OUR LIFE & OUR SITUATION.

Last week, we spoke of the Parable of the Sower,

The Word is the incorruptible seed…it guarantees a harvest when it falls upon GOOD GROUND, the SOIL of our HEART that has been prepared to receive the word.  When the Word Falls on Good Ground Not just one — but all of His promises are yea and Amen!!!

Let me remind you of the 2 phase process:

The 1st phase is speaking it: confess the word, confess the word over and over and over again.  WHY?  Because faith comes by hearing and hearing and hearing… hearing you recite the word of God.

As you speak the word it begins to change you.  It will change the way you see yourself.  Jesus said the words I speak are spirit, they are life.  The word will change your image of yourself and the seeming hopelessness .  You’ll begin to believe what the word says about you!!  You’ll see yourself greater than your situation — because of the incorruptible seed — the word.

2nd second phase is establishing faith in your heart:  Things aren’t going to happen just because you say it — but you have to begin saying it — to get it in your heart — that’s part of the process.

Paul challenged the Galatians as they were going through this process when he said; Gal 6:9: Let us not become weary in our well doing, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. So confess it — even if you don’t believe it.

The word says — 2Co 12:10 THEREFORE I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.  You might feel weak — but line your words up with what the Lord is saying about you.

Back to the 2nd — once faith is abundantly in your heart — now it’s the faith in your heart — that brings that situation in agreement with the word of God.

Understanding the process gives us a better understanding of the scripture in Matt 4:4 that declares; Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

The word —“word” in this text is interpreted “rhema” — which means the spoken word.

Now — listen to Ex. 12:50: All the Israelites did just what the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron.

Who’s voice did the Israelites hear? Where did the words come from?

John the Baptist stated it this way — I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness.  i.e. I’m not the one crying, I’m just giving voice to the cry — so you can hear it and decide.

conclusion:

I don’t know what your need is or what are believing God for — but his word tells us to ask him—begin to say to yourself what god says about the situation:

  • Mat 21:22  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
  • 1Jn 3:22  And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
  • Php 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

if it’s a financial need:

  • Mat 6:31  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 ….for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
  • Php 4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

if it’s SIN or sickness: Isa 53:5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

if it’s marriage problems:  Eph 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Eph 5:22  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. Eph 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

if it’s personal problems: Psa 34:19  Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

now we pray and ask god— from that point forward we will praise.  As with the city of Jericho — faith shouts before the wall falls down.
