God’s Plan of Salvation

God’s Plan of Salvation

(Pastor Lee Jackson – FFWC)

 I)  INTRODUCTION –ONE OF THE WORDS THE NEW TESTAMENT USES FOR SIN IS THE GREEK WORD “HAMARTIA”, MEANS: TO MISS THE MARK, TO ERR, TO BE MISTAKEN, TO WANDER FROM THE PATH OF UPRIGHTNESS & TRUTH, TO DO OR TO GO WRONG OR to VIOLATE GOD’S LAWS.  UNTIL SIN IS  DEALT WITH, WE FRUSTRATE GOD’S LOVE.  WE ARE EXCLUDED FROM GOD’S BLESSINGS, GOD’S PLANS AND PURPOSE AND HIS KINGDOM.

II) WE HAVE ALL SINNED (MISSED THE MARK)

A)  we  sin because it is our nature to sin.  we were born with this sinful nature.

B) Rom 3:10, 11  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11  There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God.

C) Rom 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

D) Jer 17:9  The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

E) Isa 64:6  But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…

F)  1Jo 1:8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

III)    THE PENALTY FROM SIN IS SPIRITUAL DEATH AND SEPARATION FROM GOD

A) God created us and we belong to him.  our eternal destiny is in his hands alone.

B) Eze 18:4  Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

C) Jam 1:14, 15  But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15  Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

D) Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

IV) WE CAN NOT DO ANYTHING SAVE OUR SELF

A)  we cannot earn god’s forgiveness by our good deeds or sacrificing our lives to help others.

B) Tit 3:5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

C) Gal 2:16  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

D)  Rom 3:20  Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

E) Isa 64:6  But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…

F) Pro 14:12  There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

V)     GOD loves you just as you are (even in YOUR SINFUL CONDITION)

A)  there is nothing that you need to do or can do to make god love you more.

B)  Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

C) Rom 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

D)  1Jon 4:10  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (or atoning sacrifice) for our sins.

E)       gal 1:4  Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

F)  Luk 19:10 … the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

VI)  GOD’S REMEDY FOR OUR CONDITION (GOD’S PART)

A)  God demonstrated his love for us by paying the penalty for our sins.  Christ took our place, dying in our place.

B)  Rom 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

C) Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

D)  Joh 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

E)  act 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

F) Luk 19:10  … the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

G) 1Co 15:3  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures

VII) WHAT MUST WE DO TO BE SAVED (OUR PART)

A)  Act 3:19  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

B) to repent me means to undergo A fundamental change of mind and attitude from being alienated from God in our mind to agreeing with God.

C) Act 16:31 PAUL & SILAS TOLD THE JAILER: … Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

D) Joh 1:11, 12 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

E) Rom 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

F) Rom 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

VIII)  BLESSING OF SALVATION

A) Joh 3:18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

B) Rom 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

C)  Joh 3:36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

D) Cor 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

E)  Rom 8:16, 17  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

F) Joh 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

G) Phi 4:3  PAUL SPEAKS OF THOSE WHO LABORED WITH HIM IN THE GOSPEL: MY fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

IX) WE WILL ALL STAND BEFORE GOD AND GIVE AN ACCOUNT OF OUR LIFE

A)  Romans 14:10, 12  But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11  For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12  So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

B) Hebrews 9:27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

C)  Revelation 20:11  – 15: And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

D) someone has said: “sin takes you further than you wanted to go, keeps you longer than you wanted to stay, AND IT costs you more than you COULD PAY.”    2Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
