The Rapture of The Church

THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH

(Pastor Lee Jackson – FFWC)

1)    INTRODUCTION – IT IS NORMAL AND NATURAL FOR PEOPLE TO THINK THAT THINGS WILL CONTINUE AS WE SEE THEM NOW THAT THERE WILL NOT BE ANY SUDDEN CHANGES, BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE IN THE NATURAL WORLD NOR IS THAT THE CASE IN THE SPIRITUAL WORLD.  THE CITIES OF LOS ANGELES AND SAN FRANCISCO DID NOT EXPECT THE TERRIBLE EARTH QUAKE THAT HIT SEVERAL YEARS AGO, NOR WILL THEY EXPECT THE NEXT ONE EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE BEEN FOR WARNED BY SEISMOLOGISTS AND GEOLOGISTS THAT IT IS SURELY COMING.   THEIR INSTRUMENTS RECORD THE SLOW BUT STEADY MOVEMENT OF THE EARTH’S PLATES THAT ARE GRINDING AGAINST EACH OTHER WITH IMMUTABLE FORCE, BUILDING UP PRESSURES THAT WILL ONE DAY BE RELEASED, CAUSING DEVASTATION AND DESTRUCTION FOR THOSE THAT HAPPEN TO BE IN ITS PATH.  THIS IS A DEMONSTRATION OF GOD’S (NATURE’S) POWER IN THE PHYSICAL WORLD. ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THIS YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, FULL OF GEYSERS AND HOT SPRINGS, YELLOWSTONE IS ACTUALLY IN THE CEN TER OF THE CALDERA OF A MONSTER VOLCANO OVER 50 MILES ACROSS.  WHEN IT BLOWS IT WILL PUT MILLIONS OF TONS OF EARTH AND VOLCANIC ASH INTO THE AIR AND BLOCK OUT THE SUN FOR MONTHS FOR A GOOD PART OF THE WORLD.

IN THE SPIRITUAL WORLD, THE SIN OF THE WORLD IS RUBBING UP AGAINST THE PATIENCE OF GOD AND GOD IS ABOUT TO DEMONSTRATE HIS ENORMOUS POWER IN A CONFRONTATION BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL THAT WILL SET THE STAGE FOR JESUS CHRIST TO RULE AND REIGN ON PLANET EARTH. (READ GEN 18:20-21) IT WILL BEGIN WITH THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST, HIS SON, WHOM HE HAS APPOINTED RULER OF ALL THINGS.  IT IS THE FIRST OF SEVERAL EVENTS CALLED THE DAY OF THE LORD.  IT BEGINS WITH THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH WHEN H. E COMES TO TAKE THOSE THAT ARE HIS AWAY TO ESCAPE THE WRATH OF GOD THAT WILL BE POURED OUT UPON UNBELIEVERS AND IT WILL END WITH HIS SECOND RETURN DESTROY THE ARMIES ARRAYED AGAINST JERUSALEM AND TO ESTABLISH HIS RULE OVER PLANET EARTH.   THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST IS MENTIONED MORE THAN FIFTY TIMES IN THE NEW TESTAMENT.  IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT WE UNDERSTAND AND PREPARE FOR THIS EVENT.

2)    JESUS PROMISED HIS DISCIPLES THAT HE WOULD RETURN

A)   JOHN 14:1-3:

a)    DO NOT LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED.

b)    TRUST IN GOD; TRUST ALSO IN JESUS CHRIST.

c)    GOD’S HOUSE HAS ROOM TO SPARE.

d)    HE WENT AWAY TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR US.

e)    HE IS COMING BACK TO RECEIVE US ONTO HIMSELF.

B)    WAY THAT HE LEFT. ACTS 1:10 – 11:

a)     THE DISCIPLES WERE LOOKING UP INTO THE SKY WHILE JESUS ASCENDED FROM THE EARTH WHEN TWO ANGELS APPEARED.

b)    THE ANGELS ASKED “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

3)    JESUS GAVE US OF THE SIGNS OF THE END OF THE AGE (LUKE 21:5-36, MATT. 24:3 – 14)

A)   MANY WILL COME CLAIMING TO BE CHRIST AND WILL DECEIVE MANY

B)   WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS; NATION WILL RISE UP AGAINST NATION

C)   INCREASE IN FAMINES AND EARTH QUAKES

D)   CHRISTIANS WILL BE PERSECUTED AND PUT TO DEATH AND HATED OF ALL NATIONS; MANY WILL TURN AWAY FROM THE FAITH

E)   MANY FALSE PROPHETS WILL APPEAR AND DECEIVE MANY

F)    WICKEDNESS WILL GREATLY INTENSIFY (2TIM 3:1-5, 2PET 2:1-22)

G)   THE LOVE THAT MANY HAD FOR JESUS CHRIST WILL GROW COLD

H)   THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM WILL BE PREACHED TO ALL NATIONS AND THEN THE END WILL COME

I)     PROMISE:  HE WHO STANDS FIRM TO THE END WILL BE SAVED

4)    THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH

A)    1COR. 15:20-25; 35-38; 42-46, 50; 51 – 58:

a)    ENGLISH WORD RAPTURE COMES FROM LATIN WORD RAPTU WHICH MEANS TO BE CAUGHT AWAY (OR TAKEN OUT OF THIS WORLD).

b)    WE BELIEVE THAT THE CHURCH WILL BE TAKEN FROM THE EARTH JUST BEFORE WRATH OF GOD IS TO BE POURED OUT ON THE EARTH IN THE GREAT TRIBULATION.

c)    JESUS CHRIST RESURRECTED AS THE FIRST FRUITS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (THE PLANTING OF THE LORD).

d)    HE WILL RETURN FOR ALL THOSE THAT BELONG TO HIM, BOTH LIVING AND DEAD.

e)    THE DEAD IN CHRIST WILL BE RESURRECTED FIRST AND GIVEN AN IMMORTAL, INCORRUPTIBLE BODY.

f)     THEN THOSE THAT BELONG TO CHRIST WHO ARE ALIVE WILL BE CHANGED IN A MOMENT, IN THE TWINKLE OF AN EYE, THEY TOO WILL BE GIVEN AN IMMORTAL INCORRUPTIBLE BODY.

a)    we ARE NOT TO be ignorant about those who HAVE DIED IN CHRIST or to grieve like thOSE who have no hope.

b)    SINCE We believe that Jesus died and rose again and we ALSO believe that JESUS WILL RETURN WITH THOSe who have DIED in him.

c)    THE LORD JESUS GAVE US HIS WORD that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.

d)    the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

e)    After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air,  And so we will be with the Lord forever.

f)    WE ARE TO COMFORT ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS.

g)    SUMMARY: WHEN JESUS RETURNS IN THIS INSTANCE HE WILL BRING THOSE WITH HIM (THE SOULS) OF THOSE WHO HAVE  FALLEN ASLEEP IN HIM.  THEIR BODIES W ILL BE RESURRECTED AND REUNITED WITH THEIR SOULS THEN THOSE WHO ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN WILL BE CAUGHT UP WITH THEM TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR.  (THEY (ALL) WILL SHALL ALWAYS BE WITH THE LORD FROM THEN ON. (VS 17).

C)    O.T. TYPES & PROPHECIES (ENOCH, ELIJAH, JOB 19:25-27)

D)    THOMAS EDISON A CHRISTIAN EXPLAINED TO HIS FRIENDS BY MIXING IRON FILINGS WITH SAWDUST AND THEN HOLDING A MAGNET ABOVE THE MIXTURE.   THE IRON FILINGS WERE INSTANTLY DRAWN TO THE MAGNET AND SEPARATED FROM THE SAWDUST.   “RAPTURE!”, HE EXCLAIMED!

5)     WHEN WILL THE RAPTURE OCCUR? WHY WE BELIEVE THAT THE RAPTURE WILL OCCUR BEFORE THE TRIBULATION PERIOD?

A)    JohN14:1- 3: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2  In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 AND if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. – IN THIS PASSAGE JESUS TOLD HIS DISCIPLES THAT HE WAS GOING AWAY TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR THEM AND THEN HE WOULD COME FOR THEM.  IF THIS PASSAGE APPLIES TO ALL BELIEVERS IN THE CHURCH AGE IT WOULD SEEM THAT HE WOULD WARN THEM OF THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGHT THE TRIBULATION FIRST BUT TELLS THEM NOT TO BE TROUBLED.  HE DOES NOT MENTION OR EVEN ALLUDE TO THE TRIBULATION PERIOD HERE.

B)    (STUDY LUKE 21:28 – 36 – ESPECIALLY VS 36) LukE 21:36:  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. – HERE HE IS WARNING THEM (US) NOT TO BE SO CAUGHT UP WITH THE CARES OF THIS WORLD THAT WE MISS HIS COMING.  LOOK UP FOR YOUR REDEMPTION DRAWETH NIGH (THE RAPTURE).  VERSE 36 INDICATES THOSE THAT ARE PRAYFUL AND WATCHFUL MAY BE COUNTED WORTHY WILL ESCAPE THOSE TERRIBLE THINGS coming UPON THE EARTH!  VERSE 28 SAYS “WHEN THESE THINGS BEGIN TO HAPPEN, LOOK UP AND LIFT UP YOUR HEADS because YOUR REDEMPTION DRAWS NEAR. (NKJV). (NOT DURING WHEN THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING OR AFTER THEY HAVE HAPPENED)

C)    Rev 4:1: After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” NKJV – AFTER THE LETTERS TO THE CHURCHES.  (AFTER THE AGE OF THE CHURCH, THE TIME OF THE GENTILES)  – THE CHURCH IS NOT MENTIONED IN REVELATION AGAIN UNTIL REV 22:16.  (WE BELIEVE THE CHURCH HAS BEEN TAKEN TO HEAVEN.)

D)    (STUDY 2 THESS 1:4 – 10) HERE THE THESSALONIAN BELIEVERS WERE COMMENDED FOR THEIR PATIENT ENDURANCE OF THE “TOKEN” TRIBULATION THAT THEY WERE GOING THROUGH FOR THE KINGDOM AND THAT GOD WOULD BRING FAR GREATER TRIBULATION ON THOSE WHO WERE TROUBLING THEM.  THEY WOULD BE RESTING WITH THE SAINTS WHEN CHRIST WOULD BE REVEALED. IN THE DAY OF HIS COMING TO TAKE VENGEANCE UPON THOSE THAT KNOW NOT GOD.  (WHEN HE COMES BACK TO DESTROY THE ARMIES SURROUNDING ISRAEL, TO JUDGE THE NATIONS AND SETUP HIS MILLENIAL KINGDOM.

E)    JESUS SPEAKING TO THE FAITHFUL CHURCH AT PHILADELPHIA: Rev. 3:10: Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the EARTH.

F)     (Study 1 thess 5:1-10) 1 THESS 5:9: For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

G)    SEE ALSO 2PET 2:9, 2THESS 2:13,14, LUKE 21:34-36, PHIL 3:19-21, MATT 24:30-31)

H)    NOAH & FAMILY SPARED DURING THE FLOOD (GOD’S FIRST JUDGEMENT UPON THE WHOLE EARTH) ; LOT & FAMILY SPARED WHEN SODOM & GOMORRAH JUDGED.

6)    JESUS SOLEMNLY WARNED US TO BE WATCHING AND WAITING FOR HIS RETURN (LUKE 21:29-36) (PARALLEL PASSAGES: MATT. 24:30-41, MARK 13:26-37)

A)   NO ONE KNOWS WHEN JESUS WILL RETURN; ONLY THE FATHER KNOWS.  MARK 13:32

7)    CLOSING REMARKS – (READ & COMMENT ON 2PETER 3:3-12) ON SUNDAY APRIL 14TH  AT 11:40 PM, THE GREAT SHIP TITANIC HIT AN ICEBERG IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC ON HER MAIDEN VOYAGE. SHE SANK AT 2:40 AM THE FOLLOWING MORNING.  THOSE ON BOARD HAD 2 HOURS AND 40 MINUTES TO MAKE THEIR PEACE WITH GOD.  THIS WAS THE SHIP THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE UNSINKABLE.  IT WAS SAID THAT “GOD HIMSELF COULD NOT SINK THIS SHIP”.  IT WAS DESIGNED WITH A DOUBLE HULL AND   WATER TIGHT STEEL BULKHEADS THAT COULD BE CLOSED TO CONTAIN THE DAMAGE AND KEEP THE SHIP AFLOAT.   IT SANK WHEN SIX BULLHEADS FILLED WITH WATER, TWO MORE THAN IT WAS DESIGNED TO HANDLE. 1500 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES.

AMERICA HAS BEEN LULLED TO SLEEP BY A STRONG ECONOMY AND A LONG PERIOD OF ECONOMIC PROSPERITY.  THEY SAY WE DON’T NEED GOD.  CHURCH IS IRRELEVANT AND UNNECESSARY AND INCONVENIENT. CHRISTIANS ARE LOOKING AT THE WORLD AND SAYING “IT COSTS TOO MUCH TO SERVE GOD.  I WANT TO HAVE MY FUN.”  THE WORLD MOCKS THE SECOND RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST.  AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH SO SHALL IT BE WHEN THE SON OF MAN RETURNS.  THEY WILL BE CAUGHT LIKE ANIMALS IN A TRAP; LIKE A DEER IN HEADLIGHTS.  IT WILL BE TOO LATE.  THEY WILL FACE THE WRATH OF GOD; THE TIME OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION.  MANY CHRISTIANS WILL BE CAUGHT OFF GUARD – THEY WILL NOT BE READY.  Matt 25:10-12: “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. 11 “Later the others also came. `Sir! Sir!’ they said. `Open the door for us!’ 12 “But he replied, `I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.’   ARE YOU READY FOR HIS RETURN, IF HE SHOULD COME TODAY? 1 John 2:28: And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. NIV

John 14:1- 3

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.

Matt. 24:30 – 41

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer [is] nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, [even] at the doors. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two [women shall be] grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.  42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Mark 13:26-37

26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. 28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: 29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, [even] at the doors. 30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. 31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 32 But of that day and [that] hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34 [For the Son of man is] as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Luke 21:29 – 36

29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;  30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.  31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.  32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

1 Cor. 15:20 – 26

16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith [is] vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. 24 Then [cometh] the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.  25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

1 Thess. 4:13 – 5:8

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.  1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.  4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.   8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

 1 Thess. 1:10

And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Rev. 3:10 – 13

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. 12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, [which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and [I will write upon him] my new name. 13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Rev. 19: 11 – 21

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all [men, both] free and bond, both small and great. 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

1Th 5:1 – 9

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 6  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7  For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Rev 4:1 (NKJV) After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”

Luk 21:28 – 36 (kjv)

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. 34  And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35  For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

2Th 1:4 – 10(kjv)

So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: 5  Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 6  Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7  And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10  When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
